SPAXTON were skittled out for only 84 by Over Stowey in the fourth division of the West Somerset Cricket League - which was the only game played in the lowest division.
Stowey, put into bat first, scored 193 -9 in their 40 overs with all their top order batters making double figures. Openers Carl Woodley (23) and Tom Davison (30) put on 39 for the first wicket and Dave Rowsell (21), Roger Farmiloe (28) and Lewis Bond (20) carried on the good work. Spaxton used eight bowlers in their bid to stem the flow of runs with Mark Jones taking 3-37, Robert Seymour 3-11, Charlie May 1-18, Dacey Pike 1-28 and Chloe Ching 1-25.
Spaxton never looked like getting into a winning position and were always struggling with the bat after their first wicket went down for only 11 runs, despite a knock of 40 by opener Ching. The only other batter to make double figures was Tyler Pople who scored 16.
Steve Easden was the league’s bowler of the day, finishing with figures of 6-3 from his five overs. Lewis Bond took 2-26, Anthony Lock 1-17 and Will Bond 1-8 as Stowey cruised to a comfortable victory .
Fitzhead 2nd XI were awarded the points after their opponents Stoke St Mary cried off while East Huntspill also pulled out of their match away to Roadwater.
Meanwhile Wiveliscombe 2nd XI will be looking to maintain their position at the top of the fourth division when they play away to Brompton Ralph, although there looks little chance of this game being played.
Buckland St Mary and Bishopswood, who are only six points behind the leaders but have played one more game, are home to Fitzhead who are lying third.
Spaxton, whose defeat by Stowey leaves them back in fourth spot, are away to Stoke St Mary while Stowey entertain East Huntspill.
