T20 returns to Taunton this evening when Somerset take on Essex in a re-run of last year’s Vitality Blast Final when it was the Cidermen who won by 14 runs.

Batter Tom Kohler-Cadmore returns to Somerset after completing has stint in the IPL in addition to which Aussie fast bowler Riley Meredith, who really is quick, is set to make his debut.

Since the T20 was launched in 2003 Somerset have reached the knock out stages on 10 occasions and this year will be looking to become the first county to defend their title.

The Somerset v Essex match gets underway at the Cooper Associates County Ground at 6.30pm and is preceded by a Women’s T20 game between Western Storm whose side is captained by local player Sophie Luff, and Sunrisers, which starts at 2.30pm.

An action packed afternoon and evening of T20 cricket looks to be in store and with the weather set fair why not go along and cheer the local teams on.

Next up Somerset travel to the Oval to face Surrey on Sunday, June 2, starting at 6pm, following that they play Kent at Canterbury on Friday June 7 before returning to Taunton to face Hampshire on Sunday, June 9.
