HOLFORD went down by 29 runs to Wembdon 3rd XI in Division Five of the West Somerset Cricket League on Saturday.

After being asked to bat first Wembdon skipper Paul Rooke at the top of the order led by example making 54 off 76 balls out of his side’s total of 153.

Other important contributions came from wicket-keeper Joey Redman who made 35 and Aaron Rees who hit 25, the pair sharing an important mid innings partnership.

The wickets were shared between the Holford bowlers with Kevin Buller, Barrie Buller and Jordan Buller along with Jack Rich all claiming two apiece.

When Holford replied openers Jack Rich with 11 and Derek Buller who made 35 got their side off to a good start while Dan Graham coming in first wicket down made 12.

Wickets then fell with only skipper Jordan Buller offering real resistance by hitting 23, but it wasnt enough to prevent his side being bowled out for 123 in the final over of the innings.

Pick of the bowlers for Wembdon was Rees who took four wickets for 19 runs off his 21 balls, while Taylor Fagan took three for 16 from eight overs and Gary Howes two for 19 from seven. Scores: Wembdon 153-9, Halford 123.
