THE junior teams at Minehead Cricket Club have had a disappointing week as far as results.
On Tuesday Minehead Under 15s lost their cup semi final against Bridgwater. Batting first Bridgwater posted 144 from their 20 overs, in which there were three wickets for Reiss and two for Logan.In reply Sam with 21 and Harry ,who made 51 retired, got Minehead off to a flying start but after that only Charlie (23) was able to break double figures as they closed on 132 all out.
The Under 13s had another tough match against Taunton Deane when chasing 123 they were all out for 46, one bowler taking seven wickets for Deane.
The Under 11s also had a tough match against Deane as they failed to take any wickets and Deane ended on 319. In reply Minehead were unable to prevent wickets being lost, and closed on 196. The Man of the Match was Heath.
The Under 15s had another tough match against Taunton Deane, which ended in an exciting tie with both teams scoring 126. Wickets were shared through the team, while Harry P top scored with 48 while Charlie made 25 and Ben an unbeaten 21.
The Under 15s then played their re-arranged match against North Petherton on Monday, winning by 44 runs. Batting first Minehead made 185 all out, Harry S making 52 before he retired, Charlie with 27 and Sam 26.
When they replied North Petherton gave a good account of themselves as they reached 131 all out with Charlie (28) being their top scorer. For Minehead the wickets were shared through the team, Charlie taking two while there was a wicket each for Cam, Harry M and Lewis.
