ALL Three of Minehead Cricket Club’s junior teams were in action over the past weekend.

On Friday evening Minehead’s Under 13s travelled to Taunton where they picked up a terrific win at against Taunton Deane Falcons.

After winning the toss the hosts decided to bat first but found runs hard to come by against an economic and accurate bowling attack and were all out for 90. Oliver and Nik were the pick of the Minehead bowlers with three wickets each.

When they replied the visitors reached their target in the 18th over with Ben making 28 and Josh remaining unbeaten on 19 leading the way. Josh was voted Man of the Match.

On Sunday both the Minehead Under 11s and Under 15s fell to defeat against Taunton St Andrews.

The under 11s bowled first and Saints were able to score boundaries consistently and eventually ended on 414-4.

In reply Minehead came up against very accurate bowling and lively fielding and their inning closed on 185. Jess was voted player of the match.

The Under 15s were away and batted first at the Wyvern Club where they scored 109 all out in the 16th over with Sam (29), Logan (21) and Lennon (20).

In reply the Saints’ top order scored quickly as the rain set in and they were able to secure victory in only the seventh over without losing a wicket.

As a result of this match Taunton Saint Andrews remain top of the TDYCL Under 15 league table with Minehead staying in third place.

This coming weekend all three MCC junior sides have fixtures. Minehead Under 13s host their Taunton St Andrews counterparts on Friday evening.

On Sunday morning Minehead Under 15s are at home to Taunton Deane Under 15 Tigers, while MCC Under 11s travel away to play against Taunton Deane Falcons.
