MINEHEAD Thirds were in local derby action on Saturday when they made the short trip to face Carhampton in Division Three of the West Somerset Cricket League.
After being put into bat the hope openers Sam Price and Paul Keal took the total onto 35 when Keal was caught abducting bowled by Within Rajan for 11. Two runs later Ben Cobb accounted for Price for 17.
With the scoreboard showing 37 for 2 Ryan Cape then took the lead for the hosts and helped to take the total onto 125 before he was fifth wicket to fall, bowled by Reuben Rajan for 34 which he scored from 45 balls and which included two 4s and a six.
Several of the Carhampton players got into double figures including Matthew Long who made 12 but none of them went onto build an innings and the hosts were all out for 169 in 31.5 overs .
Reuben Rajan with 4 for 19 off five overs, one maiden, was the most successful of the Minehead bowling attack.
When the visitors replied Adrian Priddle and Dan Pawson put on 21 before the former was out for 7 caught by Keal off Nick Winzer.
Ryan Cape then picked up three wickets to reduce the visitors to 43 for 5 at which point Darren Richards joined opener Pawson and together they added 28 when Pawson was caught by Jack Milton off Keal for 25.
Richards found further support from Jithin Rajan and the pair added 39 for the seventh wicket when Richards was bowled by Keal for 33.
Keal then accounted for Rajan leg before wicket for 42 with five 4s and two 6s after which there was little resistance and Minehead were all out for 151 in 34.2 overs.
Keal ended with 4 for 35 while Cape took 3 for 20.
