Minehead Cricket Club open their season tomorrow (Saturday) with the 1st XI travelling to Temple Cloud, the 2nd XI at home to North Newton and the A team away to Carhampton.

Having played three pre-season matches, hopes are high for a more competitive season after two disappointing seasons for the first team, who have made some new signings will be captained by veteran Andrew Stevens.

l The club is hosting a “Tribute to Thom-o” Evening on Friday June 17, when ex-Somerset player Alfonso Thomas and author Dean Allen will be attending a fundraising cheese and wine evening.

l Minehead and West Somerset Cricket Academy practice is up and running on Tuesday evenings for age groups range from Year One to Under 19s.
