WATCHET won their first match of the season in Division Two of the Somerset League to climb off the bottom off the table.

Playing away to Chard II, they batted first and made 245, captain Ryan Strong top-scoring with 77 and Martyn Ketchen making 60. There were also useful contributions from opener Matt Lovell (22) and Martin Strong (20).

Young Archie Walsh then starred with the ball, taking 5-48 as Chard were bowled out for 146 to seal a 99-run win.
