IF you fancy playing cricket without the commitment to weekends, Last Man Stands could be for you.

It is an eight-a-side social form of cricket played over 20 overs on midweek evenings in the summer, and a local league takes place at Minehead Cricket Club’s ground.

The game is aimed at adults who enjoy playing cricket socially but due to work or family commitments find it difficult to commit to playing at weekends. Matches start at 6.30pm and finish by 9pm.

The Minehead league has two divisions and teams usually consist of friends, work colleagues or family members.

Each team will play eight matches between May and July with two play-off games in July.
