CANNINGTON kept up the pressure at the top of the third division in the West Somerset Cricket League with a three-wicket home victory over Carhampton.
The visitors, who won the toss and decided to bat first, were bowled out for 143 in 23.4 overs before Cannington knocked off the runs in just under 30 overs.
However, it was a dismal day for other sides in the division, particularly leaders Hemyock whose title hopes suffered a big blow when their match against Bishops Hull 2nd XI was abandoned.
The Devon side, who took only 13 points from their last match of the season, were 31 without loss in the ninth over when the game was called off due to the bad weather.
Cannington collected 34 points from their win over Carhampton which means they are now only 35 points behind Hemyock - and they also have two crucial games in hand.
