WEST SOMERSET sides Minehead and rivals Watchet Town find themselves without a fixture in the first division of the Uhlsport Somerset County Football League this weekend.

For Minehead, it is particularly frustrating because they had a blank day last Saturday after their opponents Radstock Town Reserves cried off in their Somerset Senior Cup-tie.

It means, of course, Minehead will go three weeks without playing a game when the pitches are in good shape.

Watchet's Nick Sully, now part of the management team, also feels it is poor that his side are without a game.

"I know we would have players out - for holidays and cricket - but we should not be waiting until the winter when the grounds are waterlogged," he said. "But I suppose it's understandable when you only have 15 teams in the division. There's bound to be more blank days.

Watchet were beaten 5-1 away to Congresbury in the opening round of the Senior Cup last weekend. It means that after winning their opening league game at Combe St Nicholas, they have lost twice.
