WEST Somerset went into an 80-year time-warp at the weekend, turning back the clock to recreate the Dad’s Army decade of the 1940s as part of a feast of nostalgia which attracted crowds of visitors to towns and villages along the West Somerset Railway line.

This year they concentrated on a smaller section of the line between Minehead and Stogumber with more events at Dunster and regular shuttles between venues to allow people to move around easily and see more attractions, the railway said.

On both days there was a special timetable of trains to make it easier for visitors to access all parts of the event.
