THE Bridgwater and West Somerset constituency will be contested by five candidates at next month’s General Election.

The deadline for nominations was at 4pm on Thursday and the five who had come forward were Wes Hinckes (Labour), Marcus Kravis (Liberal Democrat), Ian Liddell-Grainger (Conservative), Kay Powell (Green Party) and Simon Smedley (UKIP).

There are also five candidates contesting the Taunton Deane constituency: Gideon Amos (Liberal Democrat), Alan Dimmick (UKIP), Martin Jevon (Labour), Clive Martin (Green Party) and Rebecca Pow (Conservative).
