Spring clean beach litter pick being organised by Minehead Town Council More than £100,000 has been raised towards the Williton Pavilion project through various activities spearheaded by four of local residents, Diane Hooper, Maureen Mossman, Joan Scott and Elizabeth Peeks.
Their efforts and that of the residents provided potential funders evidence of the need for a community building within Williton.
The benefits of the project to the community were also realised by West Somerset Council and EDF Energy who together contributed grants totalling £469,000.
The building has been designed to be fully accessible with numerous features to benefit the community, and the project also includes improvements to the Recreation Ground.
