Wising up to use of water

AN activity-packed ‘Wonderful Water and Wildlife Day’ is being held at Wimbleball Lake on Wednesday (September 1).

Wimbleball is home to a range of water-loving wildlife, from pond bugs and dragonflies to moisture- hugging ferns and wet waders, and South West Lakes’ environment rangers will be there to help visitors explore.

The day will focus on the reservoir and how its water is used. It is part of the South West Lakes charity’s I Love Water project, funded by the National Lottery Heritage Fund and South West Water to highlight the importance of using water wisely.

Two sessions will be held – 10am to 12.30pm and 1pm to 3.30pm. Advanced booking is advised, as spaces are limited. It costs £3 per child and £2 per adult.

All proceeds go towards protecting and enhancing the South-West’s reservoirs and lakes. To book visit www.swlakestrust.org.uk/events
