One woman died and a man was seriously injured as a result of a head-on collision on the A30 between Yeovil and Crewkerne on Wednesday this week.

Details revealed of new Williton industrial units as part of Station Fields housingThe accident happened just before 12.20pm on the Yeovil side of the Haselbury Plucknett and North Perrott turn off, and the road had to be closed for almost four hours.
A red Astra and a blue Peugeot were involved in the smash. The driver of the Peugeot was trapped in the wreckage for about an hour and was treated by paramedics and a doctor whilst efforts were made to cut her free. She was airlifted to hospital in Dorchester where she later died.
The driver of the other car was taken by ambulance to Yeovil District Hospital. His injuries were described as serious but not life-threatening.

The identity of the woman has not been released.
