WINSFORD'S Royal Oak public house has received a top accolade from an international travellers' website.

The pub as been awarded a TripAdvisor Certificate of Excellence, something that is only given to establishments that consistently receive outstanding reviews on the TripAdvisor website.

It is estimated that just ten per cent of businesses featured on the website achieve the honour.

The business is run by family members Joe, Josh, Alison and David Henry, who said they were thrilled to receive the award.

In a statement, the family said: "Since taking over two years ago, we have made great efforts to improve the overall experience for the customer in eating, drinking and staying.

"We strive to offer our customers a memorable experience and this accolade is evidence that our hard work is translating into positive reviews on TripAdvisor."

The Royal Oak has already achieved a Cask Marque award in recognition of its excellent range of ales.
