TWO roads in Williton are being resurfaced sooner than planned as the county’s Highways workers take advantage of the quieter roads.
Essential resurfacing work will now take place on the A39 Long Street in Williton on Monday (May 18) for five days.
On Tuesday, May 26, resurfacing works will begin on the A358 High Street in Williton and continue over three days.
Both road closures will be in place from 7.30am until 5pm and during these hours an alternative route will be clearly signposted.
Cllr John Woodman, cabinet member for highways at Somerset County Council, said: “It’s great news that we are able to take advantage of the quieter roads in Somerset by bringing forward these two important resurfacing schemes in Williton.
“A road closure is the only option for these works, but with lower levels of traffic it means there will be far less disruption for road users. “However, as with any road closure, we would always encourage people to plan ahead.”
