SIR — I would like to reach out to my fellow dialysis users.

I have, on behalf of a number of users in Taunton and Exeter, been in contact with local MP Ian Liddell-Grainger, county councillor Christine Lawrence and Edward Colgan of the Somerset Partnership NHS Foundation Trust about a treatment centre in Minehead.

Without one, I have put to them the financial cost of transport and the physical stress it puts on each of us.

I now need to know the number of people who would like dialysis in Minehead so I can continue to fight for a unit based there.

For people who have not been touched by kidney problems, on top of a four-hour procedure there is a 2-3 hour journey there and back three days a week.
