SIR — I have written to Somerset County Council as follows: It’s unbelievable: Decimation of buses, closing of toilets – what will be next?

It’s already a fact that the distance between the rich and the poor is constantly increasing: where is democracy going in West Somerset?

Ares like The Parks, Woodcombe, Bratton, Periton etc have not a single shop in them. Where will all those elderly and/or disabled people, many of them living in social housing and having no cars, get their food?

Many times of the day, the 101 is full of those elderly people or schoolchildren or both together – what will happen to them?

Where’s the county money if not prioritising those in real need?

These questions need answering – now! This is one of hundreds of letters: do answer them.
