Please can I appeal to people living in or near the parishes of Williton, Watchet and Old Cleeve to volunteer as drivers for WHEELS?

WHEELS drivers take anyone who is unable to drive or get to a bus to medical appointments or shops.

It receives requests for 30 to 40 journeys a week and sadly has had to turn down one or two requests when no driver was available.

It would be wonderful if anyone reading this could join our team of drivers and help those who have difficulty getting around, even if you could do just one journey per week.

Our co-ordinator would contact you a few days in advance to see if you were available to do the trip and you would be paid the mileage approved by the Inland Revenue, at present 45p a mile.
