TOILETS in a West Somerset public house have won acclaim for their quality and standards in this year’s Loo of the Year Awards.
The Duke of Wellington, a Wetherspoon’s pub in Minehead, received a platinum grading by inspectors who make unannounced visits to thousands of ‘away from home’ washrooms.
Toilets are judged for décor and maintenance, cleanliness, accessibility, hand washing and drying equipment, and overall managerment.
Duke of Wellington manager Nathanial Leader said: “Staff ensure the toilets are in excellent condition at all times and it is great this has been recognised by the inspectors.”
Awards managing director, Becky Wall said: “The toilets at The Duke of Wellington have been designed and fitted out to a very high standard and are both clean and well maintained.”
