THE main road into Dunster is to be closed this evening (June 22) and tomorrow night for emergency work by Wessex Water.

The water company will shut Dunster Steep at 6 pm today and reopen the road at midnight, and will do the same on Friday.

An emergency road closure has been granted by Somerset Council to allow Wessex Water to carry out urgent sewer repair works.

Wessex Water said there would not be any access even for the emergency services while the work was happening.

A diversion route will be signposted, although it could be amended on review.
