SIR — Preparations for this year's Minehead and District Flower Show are well underway. It will be held on Saturday August 13 at the West Somerset Community College.

Once again we are hoping to build on the success of previous shows, 2010 having been exceptional. Classes cover flowers, vegetables, floral art, honey, wine, home craft, and arts and crafts.

After a gap of six years, due to a number of requests it has been decided to bring back our junior section.

Schedules and entry forms are available from West Somerset Garden Centre, the Visitor Information Centre, Butterflies, the Post Office, Alcombe, and many other outlets throughout the town or you can telephone me on 01643 709033 or Barbara Brady on 705108 and we will get one to you.

Once again we thank in anticipation the many businesses and organisations in Minehead whose generous support of the show help to make it such a successful event that the town can be proud of.
