SIR — Much fruit falls from the EDF tree for us all . . but look carefully - not quite for all.
When the Hinkley project was first published, a knowledgeable local sage said to me "Watch out, Sedgemoor and Somerset County will get the lion's share of thedividend".
There is a sign in Bridgwater saying "Gateway to Exmoor". The recent map EDF published with their zones represents a triangle with its base firmly centred on Bridgwater, Sedgemoor and Hinkley itself.
That is what it should be and good for them, but the top, and a very thin top, of the triangle gets to Minehead in the west. It stops there.

And Minehead? The http://www.Have">www.Have you got the HinkleyPoint? website asked that very question and provided a forum for all - the answer looks like no not yet!
We asked what was in it for the people of West Somerset and Exmoor. To be fair to West Somerset Council, Somerset County Councik and EDF, they have asked bu Mr and Mrs Apathy were out.
Don't complain when it's too late - we all need to say what we feel now.
We quoted on the website EDF's aims for this area. The estimate for "negligible traffic impact" seemed a bit optimistic so it is good to note the effect upon the A39 is being rethought.
However, if you want to see what poor old Williton might look like, you could stand on the new roundabout opposite Morrison's in Minehead!
We have district council elections in May. If candidates of all persuasions would like to email their wish list ([email protected]">[email protected]) and tell us what they will campaign for, we will post their thoughts in full on the site so people can read and comment on them.
The spin-off from the Hinkley project has the potential to bring a one-off significant investment and benefit in West Somerset and Exmoor for years to come.
Let's make our eastern neighbours a gateway to the west but fairly share the "sustainable legacy benefits" and "dynamic and sustainable economy" for the new wards of Porlock and District, Brompton Hills, Dulverton and District and Greater Exmoor as well.
After all, go through the gateway and you could end up at the end of the rainbow, and we all know what's there! Come on you Exmoor beasts, let's hear you!
Rollo Clifford,
West Porlock.
