SIR — This last fortnight in Watchet has certainly had something for everyone, residents, traders and visitors alike of all ages.
Well done everyone, from the harbour celebrations to summertime to the kids' festival and a fabulous finale with the carnival parade.
So much effort put in by so many people, and so much support from our townsfolk.
Richard and Alex, our town warden and crier, said they'd put in a request for good weather and didn't we have it in abundance.

Mixed reaction from West Somerset residents to new tidal lagoon proposalIn these cash-strapped times, everyone pulled together to create an atmosphere not dissimilar to that of Rio, or so my guests said.
Speaking personally I'd like to thank all the donors, helpers and supporters who helped raise nearly £250 for the Watchet Library Friends with a tombola and name the teddy.
The children of Knights Templar, siblings, friends and of course the fandabbydozy Pete the Poet took the Save the Library theme of favourite characters from their favourite book and wowed the crowd, entertaining with musical beat and chants all along the route of the parade.
A fantastic effort by all, not to pick favourites but imagine carrying your own wardrobe all the way for the Narnia little girl and the spotty dog called Donation.
Watchet is the envy of many a well-heeled town with its ability to roll up its sleeves and ensure a fabulous party for all.
Thank you to everyone.

Watchet.
