WATCHET'S Christmas festivities got into full swing on Friday with the town's annual late night shopping event.

The town's churches joined forces to create the United Churches for the evening, which featured the ever-popular 'living nativity' scene, there was a Punch and Judy show and music from the Watchet Town Band.

There was also face painting for children and plenty of mulled wine and mince pies for the grown-ups.
