EVERY month a group of year four children from Knights Templar School in Watchet
walk the short distance to Ingrams Meadow – but last week the traffic went the other way.
Instead of the usual arrangement, the Magna sheltered housing residents visited the school for a special roast lunch.
It was part of the Archie project, an intergenerational dementia awareness programme linking school children with older people in a way that is happy and interesting for them all.
The children also learn about dementia and the effects it can have on people’s lives through the jolly story of Archie the scarecrow who begins to lose his memory and is helped by his friends.
