A WALK to Badgworthy and Doone Country is being organised by the Exmoor Society on Friday as part of the Simonsbath Festival.

Led by archaeologist Rob Wilson-North, it sets off at 10am from Brendon Two Gates and covers four miles of rough moorland in the footsteps of Lorna Doone author R D Blackmore.

In their exploration of one of Exmoor’s most remote places, walkers will see Blackmore’s memorial stone and the remains of a medieval village. Dogs welcome on leads. Free entry but donations to Exmoor Society are welcome.
