THE West Somerset Mineral Line Society will be leading a guided walk from Watchet Market House Museum tomorrow (Wednesday, August 23).

Watchet was the main port for the iron ore which was mined up in The Brendon Hills in the late 19th century, and this walk will explain much of the history of the town.

It starts at 2pm - and at 1pm, Watchet Duck Race will be set off from The Packhorse Bridge in Whitehall and end in the tidal basin by The Star Inn. To take part, get duck numbers from the stall on The Esplanade - where you can also buy candles to be floated out on the tide from the East Quay at about 8pm.
