WITH the elections for Somerset County Council less than two months away, people in West Somerset are being urged to make sure they are registered to vote on polling day - Thursday May 4.
West Somerset and Taunton Deane councils’ joint elections team this week issued a reminder to voters in the two areas that they need to register by the deadline of Thursday April 13 or they won’t be able to vote.
Elisa Day, electoral services manager, said: “Time is running out to make sure you can take part in elections this May, so I’d encourage everyone in Taunton Deane and West Somerset to take action now if they’re not already registered to vote.
“It’s quick and easy to register, but after the deadline of 13 April, it will be too late.”
