HUNDREDS of jobseekers had a chance to try their hands at the many and varied careers on offer at Butlin’s in Minehead last week when the resort hosted a jobs fair.
More than 20 different departments, as varied as catering, bars, maintenance and accommodation, gave demonstrations of skills such as food carving, cocktail mixing and bed-making.
And those attending were able to try different things before applying – and being interviewed – on the spot.
Although Butlin’s was delighted with the turnout and quality of the candidates, it still has more than 150 jobs available.
“It was a great day,” said resourcing manager Emma Kelly. “Our team put a lot of effort into showing the huge variety of roles we have on the resort and the career opportunities available, and the calibre of candidates that attended meant we were able to make a large number of job offers.
“However, we still have a lot of roles to fill and so I’d urge anyone who couldn’t make it to visit our website or contact us.”
