MINEHEAD United Reformed Church has invited local Methodists to join them in worship tomorrow (Sunday) – at the new URC minister’s first service and the outgoing Methodist minister’s last.

The invitation was extended because the Minehead Grand Prix cycling event will make The Avenue inaccessible tomorrow.

The Rev Viv Henderson was inducted as the new URC minister on June 2 and superintendent of the Methodist circuit the Rev Andrew Vidamour is about to move to Bideford.

Rev Henderson was lead chaplain at Musgrove Park Hospital, Taunton, until last summer. She is currently chaplain at Wellesley Hospital, Wellington, and the House of St Martin near Taunton.

She will continue in these ministries alongside her new charge which will be focused on community engagement.
