TWO adults had to be rescued by fire crew after the car they were in with three children came off the road on Tuesday.

The accident happened on the A358 near Combe Florey and was reported at 1.47pm after a fire officer came across the scene.

Two fire engines from Taunton and Williton were called, and the rescue tender from Taunton was also mobilised as a precaution.

The children were able to get out of the car on their own but the two adults had to be released by fire crew.

An ambulance was requested to check the car’s occupants, as a woman said she had stomach pains and a child had back pains.

No other car was involved.
