A BANK in Minehead has been splashing the cash for Christmas – by giving £100 to Pro-Active Lifestyle and Swimming group PALS.
The donation, part of a nationwide programme, is to fund instructor and lifeguard training so PALS can continue to provide its service in the community.
TSB Minehead bank manager Adam Mills said: “We chose to give this money to PALS because of all that they contribute within our community. They rely heavily on volunteers and donations so it’s great to be able to give this extra support.
“The volunteers take the adults out weekly to get some exercise, sometimes following major surgery to help with rehabilitation and they also celebrate together over the Christmas period.”
TSB is giving every one of its branches £100 to gift to a local cause as a little extra support at this time of year. The bank’s approach is to support small local causes that matter rather than focusing on one, centrally chosen charity of the year.
PALS chairman Peter Wellstood, pictured receiving the cheque from Shannon Flynn, thanked TSB, both at local and national level, for its community support: “TSB’s donation is really helping us share the Christmas cheer by funding instructor and lifeguard training, which is vital to enable us to facilitate and do what we continue to do at PALS.”
