GOING the extra mile to keep customers happy has brought national recognition for Williton-based computer engineer Edward Martin.
His company was named the mobile reseller of the year at the annual Terra Computers awards, topping the category in the face of competition from dozens of businesses across the country.
The trophy was handed over at a ceremony on board HMS Belfast in London, with Edward Martin Computers only narrowly missing being named the country’s overall top Terra outlet as well.
The award recognises companies which provide outstanding after-sales service, advice and support to customers.
Edward said he had no idea his company had been nominated until he received the invitation for the event.
“I look upon it as an award for the whole team here,” he said.
“Our philosophy has always been that selling someone a computer is only the first step in the process.
“It’s very important – particularly for those who are not particularly computer-literate – for customers to have pretty much instant access to professional, expert advice if they encounter a problem, or a situation they can’t understand.
“That’s something we have always tried to provide and to judge from this award we are clearly getting it right.”
