AROUND 30 organisations, charities and local businesses lit up a tree for Christmas as part of the popular Christmas Tree Festival held in The Avenue Methodist Church, in Minehead. The four-day festival featured a wide variety of decorated trees and was organised jointly by the church and charity Save the Children. While the £1 entrance fee was donated to the children's charity, those taking part were able to put collection boxes alongside their exhibits. Members of Minehead Brownies helped to officially open the festival last Thursday and the Rev Linda Barriball brought proceedings to a close with a special service on Sunday. The theme for this year's festival, now in its third year, was Christmas carols and songs. Pictured getting some ideas for their own family tree are Charlotte Brooks, aged nine, and Georgia Brooks, aged seven. Photo: Steve Guscott.
