A FAMILY of holidaymakers from Norfolk had to be rescued after becoming trapped 75 feet up a cliff at Warren Bay, Watchet.
The group had been enjoying an afternoon on the beach when they were caught out by the tide and decided to climb what they thought was a cliff path to safety.
However, the path soon petered out and they ended up trying to scale a 120 feet-high cliff.
Luckily a crew from Minehead Lifeboat Station was on exercise in the bay and spotted the group, which included one adult and four children aged between ten and two.

He stayed with them until a cliff rescue team, led by Nick Tapp of Watchet Coastguard, arrived and led the group to safety.
The family suffered some superficial cuts and bruises but otherwise were none the worse for their ordeal.
