Derek and Patricia Blackmore of 56 St. Michael's Road, Yeovil, were the winners of the town council's Christmas lights competition.

The competition is the brainchild of councillor Audrey Bartlett, who has also donated the trophy.

Residents of 153 St. Michael's Avenue (Neil and Lynn Woolmington) and 35 Milford Road (Lily and Maureen Case) finished third and second respectively.

There were a total of 25 entries, all visited by the judging panel consisting of councillors Bridget Dollard, John Hann and Audrey Bartlett.
