A public/private partnership scheme was rewarded when the public toilets in the Quedam Shopping Centre, Yeovil, again won a prestigious award for their upkeep and cleaning.

The toilets, which are operated as a joint venture between South Somerset District Council and the Quedam Centre, scooped the attendant of the year award and a five-star award in the nationally run competition.

The toilets have had regular success over the last couple of years in this competition, and centre manager David Mills said: "To yet again win these awards is an outstanding achievement - I am very pleased that the hard work of the cleaning team and our partnership with South Somerset District Council has been recognised in this way."
