A DOZEN high-spec bikes valued at over £45,000 were stolen from a cycling competitors' camp at Great Wood, near Over Stowey, at the weekend.
Most had been handmade or modified for racing and only one was valued at under £3,000.
The owners were due to take part in a cycling competition nearby and had left their bikes chained to their vehicles overnight last Saturday (May 9).
The bikes involved included four Whyte G150 Works, similar to the one pictured, each valued at around £4,000
A black and red Lapierre Spicy 527 valued at £3,100, a £4,200 Scott Genius LT710 Carbon with yellow Mavic wheels and a Trek Remedy valued at £2,300 were also stolen.
Four MDE Carve 7 bikes were also taken and are more distinctive that normal models as they had prototype chains which were smaller than normal.
The stolen bikes were in medium and extra-large sizes and were each valued at about £5,000.
Anyone with information about the thefts they should call PC 1074 Susan Sealey on the police 101 number quoting reference 48020/15.
