Regarding Ros Robinson’s letter about the North Hill daffodils (Letters April 14), I note that she mentioned one response to this issue when she wrote some time ago.

Despair ye not. My wife and I agree with you 100 per cent. Daffodils do not belong in a heathland environment.

Furthermore, we have long thought that the planting of cultivated daffodils on the approaches to towns and villages would have been better served by planting the true wild daffodils if it’s daffodils the people want.
