SIR — We are regular visitors to Watchet, having a holiday home at Blue Anchor. What a shock I got on my last visit - two shops painted the most vile illuminent green. So not in keeping with the lovely clotted cream and pastel shades of the rest of the town.
How has the Town Council allowed such a blot on Swain Street? I remember several years ago the same shopkeepers/residents being very vocal when another retailer painted her frontage a pastel pink! Please, please Town Council do not allow your lovely harbour town to be tainted with ugly modernisms of this kind.
