THE Keyline Taunton Sunday Football League's return to action following a two-week break over Christmas and the New Year was hit by the weather, with just three matches being played.
In Division Two, Bishops Lydeard opened up a three-point lead over their nearest rivals Waggon Clavel with a 5-0 win over Black Horse.
On a frosty pitch, the first period proved a close contest with both sides creating chances but it was still goalless at the break.
However, a flood of second half pressure from Lydeard saw them rewarded with a 5-0 win, their goals coming from Matt Bowden, Andy Howe, Leon Taswell, Wayne Cook and Adam Hillier.
In Division Three, Milverton narrowly lost 4-3 at home to Linden City, who climbed into third spot as a result.
Milverton opened up a 2-0 lead but Linden turned things around to go 4-2 ahead.
Milverton found the net again with less than ten minutes remaining but in a frantic finale couldn't score the equaliser.
The first round of the Tower Trophy brought together Watchet sides Blue Waves from Division Three and Anchor Boys from Division Four.
The result went with status as the Blue Waves earned a home tie against Ash Rangers in the next round thanks to a 6-3 win, with Ben Saddington hitting a hat-trick.
