BRITANNIA Inn beat Foxy Ferrets 6-3 at home to end their run of six wins and take over their second spot in Division One.

Shane Beck opening the scoring and Jason Hill widened the gap with two goals in quick succession, but Britannia then let two goals slip to go in only 3-2 up at half-time.

Straight after the break, a hopeful ball into the area by Richard Chapman found the back of the net.

The Brit piled on the pressure with a good all-round performance and Matt Lawrence extended the lead and Hill grabbed the sixth, a consolation goal for Ferrets making the final score 6-3.

The previous week saw Britannia Inn win 6-4 away to Perfecto.

In Division Two, Wiveliscombe went down 8-4 at home to leaders Wilton Rangers.

In Division Three, Cross Farm Park Celtic maintained their 100 per cent record with an 8-1 hammering of Kings Park Rangers. Lee Todd hit four of the goals and Adam Elston two.

The win lifted them three places in the table to third, 15 points behind leaders Trull Rovers but with seven games in hand.

West Somerset Wanderers went down 4-0 at home to Spartans Colts in Division Four, but Bishops Lydeard caned Gardeners United 5-0 at home.

Division Five is led by Periton Rangers, who sank Carling Rock 7-1 at home.

They opened the scoring after just 20 seconds - their fastest goal ever - when, straight from the kick-off, Adam Knowles passed to L Allen and he picked out Peyton on the wing whose first-time cross was converted by Knowles.

Rangers went 2-0 up when Darren Lyons split the defence and finished well, but Carling Rock snatched a breakaway goal to make it 2-1.

Periton increased their lead after some great battling by D Bailey set up Allen to supply a defence-splitting ball for Lyons to run onto and score.

Just before half-time came the goal of the match when M Knowles crossed and Allen half-volleyed the ball through the defence for Adam Knowles to smash home.

After the break Rangers were in complete control with Bailey dominating in midfield, and it wasn't long before the strength and speed of Lyons earned him his hat-trick and made the score 5-1.

After a couple of great saves by Periton keeper Fox, an unstoppable 25-yard drive from Lyons made it 6-1, and Adam Knowles rounded off the scoring by completing his hat-trick after M Rodgers set him up with a great ball.

Williton Rockets had a high-scoring win, beating Dunster away 8-3 with three players - Alan Harrow, Michael Auton and Wayne Merrick - scoring two apiece.

It was Dunster's first game for two months, their last match having seen them concede eight goals to the same side.

Fielding a young side, they gifted four first half goals to the Rockets with Chris Bellamy's solo effort their only reply.

After the break Williton had their tails up and extended their lead twice before Danny James forced the ball home after the keeper had blocked his first effort.

Rockets then took their tally to eight before Bob Oakey completed the 8-3 scoreline with a crisp shot into the bottom corner of the net.

Another side in free-scoring mood were Bagborough Rovers, who beat Swallowfield 8-0 with Mark Smith scoring four times.

l Taunton Raiders have withdrawn from Division Five.
