PERITON Rangers finished 8-3 winners in their Division Five derby away to Williton Rockets.

The Knowles brothers combined to give them the lead after ten minutes, but after a scrappy period of play Williton drew level from the penalty spot.

That boosted the home side's confidence but it was Rangers who regained the lead when a superb cross from Allen was met by an unstoppable header from Bailey.

Williton then enjoyed a spell of pressure before Allen made it 3-1 to Rangers.

After the break Periton played the better football and A Knowles scored his second of the match, only for Rockets to score straight from the re-start and make it 4-2.

Rangers controlled the rest of the match, with Knowles completing his hat-trick then adding his fourth to make it 6-2.

Williton had a couple of chances but good defending from Eric Ruddy and Paul Duffield kept them out.

M Rodgers was next to net for Periton from a tight angle, then Lee Allen scored the goal of the game, firing a shot into the corner of the net after a great run and good link-up play with Bailey.

Williton grabbed a consolation goal in the last minute.

In the same division Dunster emerged well beaten but with credit from their 7-1 defeat away to high-flying Perfecto Old Boys.

The game started with Dunster defending well against strong pressure, with Nigel Phillips twice denying the home side before they took the lead in the 20th minute.

Dunster created chances on the break and but for good goalkeeping and missed opportunities the 4-0 half-time scoreline to Perfecto could easily have been 4-4.

After Perfecto made it 5-0 early in the second half, Dunster took the game to their opponents, with Chris Bellamy outstanding on the wing and Steve Sanford and Dave Lamb holding firm at the back.

Ferris was denied three times before scoring with a tremendous drive from the edge of the box to make it 5-1, but with Dunster driving forward the home side broke and claimed a lucky sixth goal when a forward miskicked, unwittingly dummying the defenders and setting up an easy chance for a colleague.

Dunster continued to fight hard and to concede a seventh goal was poor reward for a battling display.

Carhampton lead the division after their 4-2 home win over Carling Rock, while James Walsh scored five goals for Bagborough Rovers in their 8-0 win away to Taunton Raiders.

In Division One, Britannia Inn suffered their first defeat, 3-1 away to Spartans.

Division Two saw Wiveliscombe crash to an 8-1 defeat away to Moathouse, and Milverton went down 6-0 at North Curry.

In Division Four, West Somerset Wanderers lost 5-1 away to second-placed Bishops Lydeard.
