ALCOMBE Rovers are still looking for their first win in Division One after narrowly losing 2-1 away to newly-promoted Bridgwater Sports.
In a hard but entertaining match, Alcombe had a great chance to go ahead in the 15th minute when they were awarded a penalty, but James Browning's shot was saved.
After a goalless first half, Bridgwater went ahead from the penalty spot in the 50th minute after Rovers keeper Dave Frost had been slow coming off his line and the referee ruled that he had brought down a forward in diving for the ball.
Five minutes later Alcombe were back on level terms when a 25-yard lob by Jason Hill completely deceived the home keeper.
With 20 minutes to go, Sports won a free-kick which foxed Frost and put them back in front again.
Alcombe fought back and forced four corners in quick succession, one being cleared off the line and one hitting the bar, but the deserved equaliser just wouldn't come.
Alcombe Rovers: D Frost, J Hill, P Ahmet, R Furse, R Baker, M Hill, J Browning, P Matcham, S Antonelli, D Ferguson, R Jackman, subs S Beck, P Adams (both used), T Milton.
In the same division, Bishops Lydeard drew 1-1 at home to Galmington, Jason Tanton getting their goal.
Division Two saw Porlock beat Nether Stowey 2-1 at home.
Dulverton Town narrowly lost 3-2 away to second-placed Middlezoy, Spaxton went down 1-0 at Norton Fitzwarren and Bishops Lydeard Reserves drew 1-1 away to Civil Service.
In Division Three, West Somerset Sports came out 2-1 winners in their top of the table clash at home to Hulan.
Both sides went into the match with 100 per cent records, but it was Sports who mounted the early pressure, with Lee Todd's skills and man of the match Adam Elston's pace stretching the visitors' defence.
They deservedly took the lead when Tony Hills crossed for Lee Todd to head past the keeper.
Hulan looked dangerous at times but were thwarted by Sports' dogged defence, and before half-time the home side went 2-0 up when Tommy Todd's effort was saved by the keeper but Hills put away the rebound.
In the second half Sports came under pressure as Hulan showed their quality but they were guilty of poor finishing.
Sports created chances themselves and should have stretched their lead when young Karl Griffiths crossed for Lee Todd to head downward into an empty net but the ball bounced onto the bar and away to safety.
Hulan create more chances but all they had to show was a consolation goal at the death as Sports finished the stronger of the sides.

Neighbours Dulverton Town Reserves lost 3-1 at home to Hemyock and Stogursey lost 3-1 at Appletree.
Division Five leaders Williton maintained their 100 per cent record with a 1-0 win away to Nether Stowey Reserves.
Their spirit and hard work was rewarded when Gavin Walsh netted the winner, his fourth goal of the season.
There was no such joy for Dinamo Watchet, who lost 2-0 away to Wyvern Foxes.
