A SURVEY of housing need in Nether Stowey has been launched by Sedgemoor District Council.
It coincides with the National Housing Federation’s Rural Housing Week, designed to promote the challenges associated with finding housing in rural communities.
The cost of village housing is a genuine barrier to many people who were raised and work in rural communities, said the council.
A survey form has been sent to every property in the village, and anyone actively looking for a home there but who cannot find a suitable property to buy or rent because the cost of local housing is too high is encouraged to complete it.
Also, anyone who has been forced to leave the village because of high house prices in the past or who simply cannot find a suitable home is encouraged to do so too.
Additional forms can be obtained from the Sedgemoor District Council housing development team, and forms can also be completed on line via the council’s website.
Anyone wanting more information about the survey and would like to talk to someone should contact Duncan Harvey or Esther Carter on 0300 303 7800 or email affordable.housing@sedgemoor. gov.uk
