SUPERFAST broadband should arrive in Watchet at the end of December or early January 2016, Somerset County Council said this week.
The council’s economic development officer Nathaniel Lucas said that the majority of cabinets which feed Watchet would finally be live around this time.
Williton’s superfast broadband cabinets were fibre-enabled several weeks ago, but Mr Lucas said that due to the size of the roll-out it had been impossible for the entire exchange to go live in one go.
He said that work was well under way in terms of bringing a superfast service to Watchet.
But delays could always happen and it was conceivable that delays could cause the completion date to be pushed out.
“However, those are the dates we are working to at present,” said Mr Lucas.
