AWARD-winning students were congratulated for their innovative ideas at the annual West Somerset Community College design and technology evening.
Each year, the college opens its doors to give people the chance to find out more about the work of its GCSE and A-Level students.
More than a 100 parents, students and members of the public crowded into the department's workshops to see some of the best students' work from the last 12 months.
Projects on display ranged from an electronic timer designed for the Minehead Quiz League to a Disneyland-inspired meal to a cat activity centre and a prom dress.
The event also included the final of the year nine enterprise project, which involved pupils designing solutions to briefs put forward by local businesses and community groups.
These included Lee Abbey, Minehead Cycling Club, Minehead Rotary Club and Nutcombe Chocolates.
The winners were announced, with Holly Bale, Chloe Blackwell, Brittany Gregory and Rebecca Lowen winning the challenge to design and make products to be sold in the gift shop at Lee Abbey.
Yasmin Fletcher and Charlie Beaver came up trumps in the category to design trophies for Minehead Cycling Club's hill climb up Porlock Toll Road in September.
Alfie Cripps, Josh O'Connor and Aaron Sebright took first place in Minehead Rotary Club's competition to design water bottle rocket cars as part of the group's summer STEM (science, technology, engineering and mathematics) Tournament.
And students Holly Abraham, Emily Oliver and Hannah Thompson were named as the winners of the best design for a 60th anniversary chocolate bar for Nutcombe Chocolates.
The college thanked the businesses who had supported the competition, as well as students and staff for their positive contributions.
